AFCKLAND, May 28. The formal business in connection with the Hospital Boards’ Conlcrencc lias concluded. A motion was proposed bv North ('aiitorhury to the effect that tlie law should be amended jn the direction of allowing Hospital Boards to deposit balances in loan accounts with such local authorities as may he authorised to receive same, and also to allow Boards to receive money on temporary deposit. The C '(inference approved a further resolution from. North Canterbury, that hospital debentures should lie made a trust security. The following remit was carried without. discussion : •'That a hospital conference be arranged in Dunedin during the Inhibition period, tinder the nuspicie.x of the New Zealand Hospital Boards’ Association of the New Zealand Branch of the Medical Association and General Health Department, that the proceedings be of an international character and that delegates be invited from Great Britain, America and Australia.” It was decided to recommend to the Boards that Hospital Board elections take place every three years, instead of two years, as at present, is the case in cities and boroughs.
