One of the thrilling scenes .is the greatest forest fire in real colours ever filmed. Two men loved Jacqueline. One a suave, polished product of the cities, who thought to win her by trickery and guile, the other a woodsman, upright and honourable, whoso love wa.s so clear as the pines among which lie dwelt. Jf you love dogs—and there are very few of us who don’t—you must not fail to see “ Blazing Barriers” for in the cast of this magnilicent production is “Taxio,” a dog of almost super human intelligence. Tnxie plays a most important part in the development of the plot and according to Dell Henderson who directed the picture, he was infinitely easy to handle. “Taxio knew what was expected of him and did it almost without a word from mo.” said Mr Henderson. " "Where 1 would have to rehearse certain players in certain scenes time and lime again to get the effect. I was after, f merely had to talk to Taxio, giving him the idea of what I wanted done, and, lo and behold, it was done! All of which, T know, sounds incredible to a great many people, and to whom i can only say that they don’t know Taxio. He is without a doubt the most remarkable animal I have ever come in contact with and 1 fee] confident that nil fhose who set: his splendid work in the picture arc going to agree with me.” A two-reel comedy, gazette and scenic will complete this big programme.
