At a meeting of the West Const Rugby Union at Greymouth last evening a request from the Westland SnbUnion was received to have the match against Hawkcs Bay played at Hokitika. It was decided that, although this request could not lie granted, the Uniei; would endeavour later in the seas oi to allow the Sub-Union a lej resent ative fixture. The New Zealand I'nion notified that as ('. and .V. AlcElvoe had returned to the League code, no further npplientic n for their reinstatement would lie (ouutemineed. W. F. Ellis and J. Mayo applied for reinstatement in the Rugby code, and it was decided to recommend the applications favourably to the New Zealand Rugby Union. For next Saturday the following fixtures were approval: Seniors. Stars v. Kiwis. at Hokitika: United v. Excelsiors at Yhtoria Park at 9 p.m. (Air W. Williams referee). ENGLISH SOCCER TEAAI. AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION SYDNEY. May 27. The British eerier team has arrived. Their match against Ceotnmundra was abandoned owing to the ground being under water.
