"THE WOAIA-X UNDER OATH." TU-XIGI IT. Eloroneo Reed-—a beautiful Follies Actress is starred in the Sclzuick lug 0 act special picture. Three sisters are left penniless oil ihe death of their father, and the eldest girl finds employment in the store of a young married man whose matrimonial life is by no means a happy one. Sympathy being akin in love, the employer and employee have much in common, and tile result is that the husband forgets his wife and take-, the other woman as his common-law partner. Relatives of the woman are shocked tit the turn of atfairs, and the girl is turned down as a consequence. When ihe employer dies, the woman is -object to further humiliation, so goes abroad to forget things. Here she is attracted hv another man, and the pair fell in love with each other. Along comes the son of her deceased husband, and the woman, believing that the young fellow will reveal the skeleton of the past, resolves In tell her lover of her intrigue, anticipating liis forgiveness. But nothing of tlie sort. The man. shocked at the confession, leaves tlie woman there and then. .Months after he meets her again .but puts an unreasonable proposition to her. after which she orders hint from her pre-

sence. She then realises that- one cannot leave the straight path with impunity, so she returns to her work at the -tore, where she determines to work out her redemption. The moral is obvious. Two dozen ostrich plume-, some trailing the ground, were used in making a beautiful and unique fan, carried by I’ola Negri, in a scene for the Paramount picture.- The setting is one of the largest- and most, elaborate ever constructed in any si in 1 io. Afore than 3.A(X) toy balloons wer ; . used, some as clusters of grapes, others dropped from above in a shower. A fountain plays during the entire scene. The three hundred minor players. all in Oriental garb, carry Chinese lanterns of special color and design, each with an incandescent light- inside. Tack Holt, is featured as leading man and Charles de Roche supports Aliss Negri in this fine production. The fete Scene shows the star auctioning a; kiss for charity. De Roche bids 10,000 dollars for tlm kiss and wins. As he tries to collect. Jack Holt , a.s the husband of the star, in a featured rote, appears and threatens to kill the alleged East Indian autocrat. Does the latter get his kiss or doesn't lie?
