THK FXWRITTEN LAW. Yorxo (iirl exonerated. ißere'vod this day at 8 a.m.) NEW YORK. May 22. A new form of unuriueu law uas invoked when the girl Wauneh explained that she had shot, lid- father and llcmncnek he ause of the boldness of the latter in living with her father caused her to temporarily lose control of herself. She stated that she only intended to scare llcmnenek and did not realise the revolver was loaded. A coroner’s jury exonerated Wauneh. ATTEMPTED LYNCHING. NEW YORK, May 22.
A ease of attempted lynching is reported from Texas. Frank and Lorenzo Noe!, negro brothers, confessed that they had killed Ryan Atkins and hud assaulted his woman companion. A mob of live thousand stormed the gaol gates and thirty shots were exchanged. One man was killed. Seventy-live police and firemen, aimed with machine guns, shot guns, tear bombs, and fire hose, finally dispersed the attackers.
