BOY SCOUTS
(Contributed.) The second Hokitika pack of Wolf Cubs had a very enjoyable and interesting day in the hush last Saturday from ten o’clock till tea time. A camp was marked out some distance up Bine Creek and the day—a gloriously line one—was spent ill many varied Cub activities and games. A\ ith an almost complete attendance and a very willing and helpful spirit in evidence everywhere, the expedition was eminently worth while. In the meantime the scouts ol both troops were busy over a “ 1 reasuro Hunt” which was taken up with so min h vigour that for two mornings running eager searchers were on the trail before sunrise. After almost D hours hard work the treasure was finally unearthed two miles out oi Hokitika. representatives ol two patrols ol the other troop arriving on the scene just in time lo see its withdrawal irom a deep hole in the ground. The exercise was intended to he more than a game ax a good ileal ol scout knowledge went to the .solving oi some of the clues, and those being hidden at widely distant spots, a lair knowlodge of local topography should result to those taking part. It is enleulnted that between twenty and thirty miles were (livered individually by some ol the more eager in the two days’ search. All Scouts and Cubs from the r'irsl and Second Troops and Backs are asked to assemble at the scout rooms , on Sunday (Empire Day). May 21th., at 10.16 a.in. prompt.
