NEW REGULATIONS. [uy Tt r.Kon.u'ii —per mess association.] WELLINGTON. May ID. At. a meeting of the .Board of Health, the Minister of Health submitted for consideration proposed regulations giving effect to the recommendations of tlie Committee on Venereal Diseases, it having been lottitd that the j lowers desired could be* secured by the issue ol Regulations. The Board decided to support the issue of regulations, and to urge the Minister to bring them into force without delay.

It is understood the regulations will require till persons suffering from venereal disease to submit to medical treatment. If a patient fails to continue the treatment, until cured, it becomes the duty to the doctor to notify the case confidentially to the Director General of Health.

In addition. Power is given to the Director-Gom i til of Health, w hen he has reason to believe that any peron is suffering from venereal disease in a communicable form, to require such person to submit himself for examination to some mcdbal practitioner, who shall forward Ids report to the Direct.,rGeneral of Health. If the report is positive, the person must submit to treatment, and if the person fails to dii so. ltd then becomes liable to a line of £2O.

Medical men are also required to give warning notices to all patients suffering from venereal disease. A fine is provided lor knowingly infecting any other person, and also for working in any rapacity whore a patient is likely to infect food for human consumption.

All the person' concerned in the administration of the Regulations are required to maintain strict secrecy, and are forbidden tu communicate any matter except as may lie required in the performance of their duties.
