Maurice Flynn, Yale Graduate and college athlete, takes the part of "The Man,” a stranger in the little mining settlement, whose, mission in unknoxxu and who in a .scene of gripping tragedy becomes the sxveelheart of Salome Jane. “ The Man,” is accused of holding up the stage-coach and is about to be led away to be banged by the Vigilantes, when Saloiny Jane, moved by a strange impulse, kisses him good-bve. Red Pete, proven to be one of the holdup moil, is hanged, but tho stranger escapes. On returning to thank Saloiny for her kindness, lie meets an old enenix. Baldwin. In a tight. Baldwin is shot from ambush by another man. Saloiny lends the stranger some of her father's clothes that he may get out (if the country. This leads Larabee, an enemy of her father's to shoot at the stranger. Larabee is killed bv a bullet from the stranger's ritlo. As he dies I,e eon losses that Baldwin now dead, was Red Rote’s partner in the stagecoach robbery. The action is swill from start to finish. The supporting east is excellent and includes such lav- ■ >urites as ('buries Ugle, Louis- Dresser. .lames Neill and Clarence Burton.
