ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET.

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Alessr.s H. Matson and Co., report as follows regal ding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday: •Store Sheep— A large yarding for this time of the year, blit not nearly bo large as last week. All classes were fairly well represented and the market "as firm all round, especially for good young ewes and forward lambs. There has been no exceptional growth throughout the plains since the recent rains and this considerably helped the •store sheep market. Forward lambs made 25s 6d to 395, medium 21s to 255, others down to 14s fid, best cross-bred ewe lamlis 30s 2d, 4, G and 8 tooth cross-bred ewes 35s to -11 s, medium 3Us to 31s, sound and failing 27s to 295. one really good local line making 31s 3d. others 19s to 21s fid. inferior to I2s. forward wethers 30s to 31s 3d. Store Cattle.—A fair yarding, but again mostly non-descript lots and cows. One small line of good 18 months heifers from Marlborough made £■! 2s Gd. while another pen of big rough 3 and 4yrs. steers were passed at £G 15s, this being a good price. There were no other quotable sales. Eat Pigs—A medium entry of forward porkers and baeoners. The market for porkers opened on a par with late rates, hut, improved over the last three races. Baeoners opened at late rates and held throughout, prices being very satisfactory. Values: Light porkers £2 8s to £2 15s, heavy £3 to £3 10s, extra, heavy to £3 15s, average 8d to 9d; light baeoners £4 to £1 10s. heavy £1 15s to £5 ss, extra heavy to £5 15s, average G:}d to 7:|d. choppois £2 10s to £7.
Store pigs.—A medium entry. The sale opened at late rates, but showed an improvement over the last ran? < two, especially for wcaners and small stores. A'alues: Small wcaners 8s to 12s, good sort's 15s to 20s, small stores 23s to 30s, medium 35,s to 4Ox. large up to -18 s.
Beef —Another large yarding, comprising S(F) head as against iOO Inst week. The quality was .generally better, but following upon last weeks’ extra, heavy yarding the market was hardly ns firm, although towards the end it bucked up. The average drop in our opinion was 10s to 15s per head. Prime steers made £l3 to £ls 10s. extra to £l7 ss. medium £lO 10s to £l2 15s, lighter £8 to £lO, others to £5 10s. prime heifers £< IPs to £lO ns. extra to £l3 2s Gd. others £1 to £7. prime cows £0 10s, to £9 ss, extra to £l2 10s. medium Cl to £0 ns, others to L'2 15s.
Aliitton A smaller yarding, hut the quality was mm li hotter than lately and included several exceptional lines of wethers from the (Tiathatns and South Canterbury as well as good local lines. There were more wethers titan usual and the market generally was from good to par to Is per head better. Prime wethers made 39s to 43s Gd. extra to 18s. medium 37s to -38 s fid, others down to 33s Gd. prime owes 32s (id to 38s. extra 38s Gd to 41s -Id, medium 27s to 325, lighter 21s to ?Gs fid.
