The general revaluation ol soldiers farms hv the Dominion Devaluation Hoard has practically hocti completed, ■anted (lie .Minister ot Hands,Mr Ale--I,cod. to-day. The .Minister stated Dial, there are still a number ol appeals and dillicnlt eases, which were occupying Die attention ol the .Health and entailing personal inspections in dill'ercnt localities; hut it was hoped that the final figures would he availahie for suhmission to Paliantent soon after it assendded. All the District Committees had completed their labours in the field. The Office of the Dominion Hoard had issued its determination in h.2(12 rases, which equalled 08V per cent, of the applications received. About 11 per cent, of the applications had droppad out during the last twelve months, and such a small percentage was to be considered very satisfactory. The general figures, the Minister slated were as follow.-: Application* for revaluation, 0.:U7: deter,.lined ,-,.•202; -till to he determined So. '1 he reductions in the capital value of the leaseholds amouted to £1.0,’2.0P3, and reductions on the mortgages under Section •> of the Act £ G0d,610. making a total of .C2.2’-G. 193. 'J'he Board had negotiated with the private mortgages, and un--ecureil creditors for the purpose ot having debts discharged or reduced to afford soldiers relief. The total amount owing by soldiers afleetcd amounted to £110.239. and, as the result of the Hoard's negotiations, reductions in these debts amounting >° tS-t.595 had been secured. In addition to this, the Dominion Hoard hat completed negotiations for the purchase of private mortgages totalling ,£:K.OVG. which had been purchased at a discount of fclo,22s>.
