D II- Ross, the Trade Commissioner now in Ottawa, is to leave for Australia to conduct further negotiations in regard to the Treaty. Tins was announced in the Commons by the Premier, Air MacKensie, who stated the press dispatch from Melbourne which stated that Mr Bruce had said the discussion of the Treaty could not bc , r e-opened, and that Austria was awaiting the action of the Canadian Parliament, did not represent the '"'Mr King, stated that Mr Bruce's last query regarding the changes in tho Canadian tariff would ho nnsweied very shortly. He pointed out that Australia made it necessary tor goods receiving preferential tariff to he <o per cent. British, which regulation was not discussed when the Hea was drawn up. with the result that Mr Ross was going to negotiate further.
