AMERICAN FLEET.

"PARTICULARS OK VISIT

WELLINGTON, April 21. The Minister for Internal Alfairs (Hon It. K. Bollard) has advised that further information had now been received from the British Ambassador at Washington through His Excellency the Governor-General relative to the forthcoming visit of the United States fleet to New Zealand slightly amending the tentative arrangements previously cabled, and giving the names of the principal ships.

“It is now announced,” he stated, “that the section visiting Wellington will arrive on August llth and leave on August 21th, whilst the Auckland detachment will reach the northern port on August llth and depart on August 25th. The division of fontlight cruisers will call at Honart on the way to Wellington from Melbourne. leaving .Melbourne three days earlier than the rest of the ships in order to do so.

“The vessels visiting Wellington will comprise the licet flagship Seattle "with the Commaudcr-in-Chiof, the three battleships Pennsylvanian. Oklahoma and Nevada, the light cruisers Richmond, Trenton. .Marblehead and .Memphis, and 28 destroyers, with a liel’A (misers, probably the Omaha as fi agship. “The Auckland section will consist of the f.agsliip of the battleship fleet, the California, and the following battleships. West Virginia. New Mexico, .Mississippi. Idaho. ( 'dorado. .Maryland and Tennessee eight battleships in all.

“With regard to the auxiliary, vessels aecomoanving the fleet it is anticipated that the hospital ship Relief will be at Wellington and the repair ship Medusa- at Auckland. The disposition of the remainder of the auxiliary ships will depend upon existing conditions at the time. “No reply,” be stated, “lias yet been received to the request of the Government for some of tho, ships to be diverted to southern poits.
