(Timaru) went the full distance, Purdy gaining the decision on points. ° Purdy, who had a considerable advantage in reach, won by a fair margin over the concluding rounds. The contest was characterised by a good deal of holding. ' Gunn, who was hampered by a poisoned arm, was the chief offender.
