SIR HARRY LAUDER
COMING TO COAST. CHRISTCHURCH, April* 10. The famous Scottish comedian. Sir Harry Lauder, arrived in Christchurch yesterday from Sydney, via Auckland. He was accompanied by Lady Lauder, and Mr T. Vallnir.e, his secretary, also All's Valla nee.
When a reporter approached Sir Harry and inquired what his plans were. lie. replied: “Ah, I've nothing on my mind at all. ali’in just hack here again for a holiday and to catch the woe trout. Yes, I’ve heard of the big swordfish and the liiako sharks, hilt I’ve no got the ammunition to draw the •swordfish with, so I’ll just he content with the wee trout. I love New Zealand anil it's just lixe being hack ha,me to he here again. ’
“Lady Lauder and my.sclt are going down to Edeiulaie, near Invercargill, where 1 am to visit my old friend, Mr Donald MacDonald. Afterwards we will go over to the West Coast ol the South Island. where Lady Lauder’s hrother, Mr AY. ATillance, resides. After that we don’t know wliat we will be •doing, hut we will just amble tiiiougli the Dominion and enjoy ourselves. “Well, yes, 1 might appear on the stage in New Zealand, hut I’m not worrying about that yet. If I do appea again I have got two new numbers to sing, ‘Tm Looking For a Bonny L’s* and “The Boss of the Moose.” When asked "here he had been since lie was in Christchurch two years ago Sir Harry Lauder said that he he been hack to his home in Dunoon, Argyllshire. Recently he had been touring the Far East and had only spent one day in Australia. He had never felt better, and had never had a headache, besides the fact that ho had been in‘the “mysterious East.”
