Mr W. Aloldriini S.AL. has received advice that he is to relieve Air Wyvern AYilson. Senior S.AI. at Christchurch, who is going on a month’s furlough. During Air Aleldriim’s absence from Greyniouth his duties will he attended to by Mr H. I’. Lowry, S.AI., Westport. Air Aleldrum leaves for Christchurch on Saturdav.
A correspondent kindly (supplies the following report:—On Easter Monday a combined Bible Class rally was held at Hokitika, over 100 Members in all being present. An energetic Committee served morning tea about ten o’clock which was much appreciated by all visitors after their journey in their respective trains. At 10.150 a service was held in the Church, Rev. T. A. Cuttle of Greymoutli opening the meeting, being followed by Air Dibbs (Tvurnara), and Mr A. R. Stone (Wellington'). The Rev. B. Hutson, of Hokitika gave a very inspiring address on
‘■What lie considered a Christian should he,” which in the visitors' minds was far too short. Mr Adams, of Ross, was unahle to take part in the church service owing to having heen delayed at Ross, but took a keen part in the afternoon sports. At .1.30 p.m. all adjourned to the Schoolroom for luncheon which showed much forethought on the part of the Hokitika friends. During the afternoon local members and visitors adjourned to the Square where several games were indulged in, everybody enjoying themselves immensely. Several also found their way to the beaches and cameras were put in! full action. One Oreymouth sporty ladv member had the misfortune .
sprain her ankle while partaking in the games and had to be assisted hom-a by her friends, but we all hope that she will soon ret over. At 4.4 ft p.m.. all returned to the School-room again and partook in a hasty tea before the visitors departed to their trains. The Rev. Hutson thanked all visitors from all parts, and Rev. T. A. The meeting of ijte V, cstlaucl Racing Club yesterday can hardly have turned out a financial success. The totalisator turnover was very little better than last year when the Club suffered a loss owing to having to postpone, and en-< countering the railway strike.
