WASHINGTON, April 12. At Boston, George Cook defeated Bob Lawson in ten rounds. CHRISTCHURCH. April 14.
The Christchurch Sports Club had a big house last evening—the biggest since the Hoeney-M’Cleary night—when a very fine boxing programme was staged at the King Edward barracks. The principal bout of the evening was the professional fight of filteen three-min-ute rounds between Eddie Parker, lightheavy and heavy-weight champion o! New" Zealand, and A tax Gornik, middle and light-heavy-weight champion of Australia. The contest went the full fifteen rounds, and was particularly interesting. Parker won comfortably on points, and the decision was most popular. The three preliminaries by amateurs wore all excellent contests.
