McLEAN’S PICTURES.

TO-NIGIIT—“SOULS FOR SALE”. Does a girl have to sell her Soul to win fame on the silver sheet? A convincing negative answer to this much discussed thought is given in “ Souls for Sale” a Goklwyn production, written and directed by Rupert Hughes which will bo screened at McLean’s Pictures this (Tuesday) evening. For those who have not read the novel, the plot is outlined below: The whirlwind courtship of handsome and mysterious Owen Scudder lias hardly given Remember Steddan a chance to know her future husband, but a terrible realization of his uutrustworthincss comes to her as their express is flying across a AA’c stern desert. Taking advantage of a stop Mem slips from the train to freedom. At this spot a moving picture company is making a desert picture and Mem’s beauty attracts Claymore, the director. Scudder now returns to America after a varied experience of crime to find .Mom a famous picture actress. Threats of blackmail failing, he disguises hintself as an extra and gets into a great circus scene in which Mem is working. A sudden storm overtakes tne company. A holt of lightning ignites the lent in which the crowds of extras are working and m the ensuing panic Scudder meets his end. And Mem freed at last of the horror of this criminal in her life now considers a templing offer of stardom, hut Claymore begs her to stay with him to strive tor now heights in her film work and she realzies that staying with him is what she wanted most in all the world. A strong supporting programme will he screened. McLean's Supreme Orchestra will render the. incidental music and reserve seals at Miss Mclntosh’s for no extra charge.
