Daily reports of the experiences encountered by McMillan in exploring the unknown area between Alaska and the North Pole, during the summer, were received by the American Fleet off Australia. I.ieutenaut Commander McDonald (President, of the United States Broadcasting League; and Mr Fred Schnell 'Traffic Manager for the American Radio League) will undertake the linking together of [lie Polar regions and the Antipodes hv radio. Commander .MacDonald will he with the McMillan Party and Mr Schnell aboard the llagship Seattle. .McDonald, out lining his plans, said that he expected to communicate with Mr Schnell at least once daily, both receiving and sending. All the messages were to he sent in the twentymetre wave length. - ‘l <un confident our experiments will he a success with the code signalling, and f am hopeful that the broadcasting of spoken words will he accomplished. WIRELESS TESTS. NEW YORK, April 12. Paul Klugh of ,t 1 1 e United States Association announced in connection with wireless tests, that oil Thursday American stations of superpower will lie used (three of which have installed five thousand watt transmitters) at quarter of an hour intervals. tion. employing 40b metres will broadcast chillies for identification. Station WLW. Cineinnatti employing 122 metres will broadcast “ The Star Spangled Banner." Station WC'C'O, Minneapolis, employing ll(i metres will broadcast " Rule Brittnnia.’’ Station WHAG. Chicago, employing 44* metres wil) broadcast the song “ Over There.” Station WIC. Davenport, employing IS! metres will broadcast a bugle call. Station KKL Los Angeles, employing 349 ni'*tres will broadcast “ God Save the King.” All this broadcasting will occur lietween four and six in the morning of April 19tli. New York time. RADIO TESTS. NEW YORK, April 12. Special tests will he made on Thursday. to determine what happens to radio waves passing across the equator coming under the influence of the equinoxes. It is announced that arrangements are completed for broadcasting the League of Australia at Hajamsville, Maryland.
