TOTE PERMITS

LENT TO NEEDY CLUBS. CHRISTCHURCH, April 0. The Secretary of the Racing Conlerence received on the 2nd. ilist. the following memo, from the Hon. Mr Bollard, Alinister of Internal Affairs: — V ‘Replying to vour letter of the 28th. / ult. a have to advise you that after giving full consideration to the Dates Committee’s recommendations, it has , been decided to loan the one-day totali- V sator licenses not being utilised during the current racing year by the Waipupakauri, Wniapu WaimuriUo and Alotueka Racing Clubs to tiie Waverley, Levin .Taumarunui and Waipa RacingClubs, which Clubs are in need of rial assistance. I am advising th</ 'Clubs accordingly. I note the Dates' Committee’s Resolution regarding the allocation of the Cheviot and the Lake County Jockey Club’s licenses. As it is too late now for the Westland llae- \ ing Club to utilise the loan this year of the Cheviot Racing Club’s permit, it has been decided to loan the permit J this year to the North Canterbury Raeing Club. Re the Lake County Jockey Club’s permit it has l>eeii decided to grant a loan for this year of one day each to the Wellington and Riverton Racing Clubs. I am advising lito clubs accordingly. THE COATEHENCE IGNORED. The following reply to this memo, was sent on the 3rd. inst. by the Secretary of the Racing Conference: —“The President acknowledges your telegram and takes note of your ministerial decisions, over-ruling the recognised governing body of the turf, and contravening Rule 14. Part 3, of the Rules of Racing.”
