(.'hoppers £3 10c to Ain r,s. Store tigs Only a medium entry came forward, weaners selling better than last week, and others at late rates. Values were; small weaners 7s (id to Ills; bettor sorts lAs to 19s, small stores 23s to 30s. medium 32s to 38s. large -!2s to 18s, no sows in pig were offering.
Beef A fii.iilv large yarding, includinjr sump excellent station lines. Although the market was a heavy one prices were linn all round, especially for prime steers and heifers and flood rjunlitv cows. 1 his class ol cattle showed an advance of 20s to 20s per lioad on last week's rales, hut secondary finality and rough stuff was just as hard to (piifc as at previous sales and showed litllo if any difference. One welcome factor in the beef market was the advent of a well-known exporting firm operating fairly centrally in tight cow beef, thereby helping the market considerably. Prime steers made CIA to £](; As. extra to £lB lis fid, medium £l2 10s to £ll lAs, lighter £lO to £l2 As, others down to £(i IA-, prime heifers £9 10s to £ll As. extra to £l3 2s 6(1, mediums £A lO.s to £9 As, prime cows £8 lAs to £lO ]os. extra to £l3. medium £A 10s to £8 10s. others down to £2 1 As. Alniton.- A very large yarding and more wethers than usual, including one
or two lines of outstanding quality which sold well. Kxporters were operating freely on good quality. Light ewe.s and medium wethers were well up to schedule prices. Butchers ».<-o were operating keenly tor all 'he heavier sorts. The market opened firm at last week’s Kites and continued so throughout; in fact towards the end the sale' was firmer and generally speaking was from par to 10s Gd above last week. Prime wethers made 38s Od to -Ids fid, extra to 33s Gd, medium 3Gs to 3Ss, others down to 31s. prime ewes 33s Gd to 38s, extra to 41s -Id, medium 29s to 335, lighter 2A.s Gd to 28s Gd, others down to 225.
Lambs,—A very small yarding, the quality with few exceptions being very indifferent. Any well finished lots met
with keen competition from exporters on a similar over all basis to last week. Graziers were operating cn lighter and unfinished lots. 'I he market generally showed little quotable cirilcrence.
