BIG CLAIMS FAIL. -MELBOURNE, .March 20
Judgment was delivered in the ease known a.s the skin and wool case, in v,hich Hnrtlslcv, William Angliss and Company, Proprietary Ltd., and Jvreglingler and Eernau claimed one million sterling from the Commonwealth Government Central Wool Committee and ILA.W.R.A. with Sir John Higgins as the person holding moneys in trust.
The plaintiffs claimed the right to participate in the profits arising out of the Imperial Government’s wool realisation scheme during the last two years of the scheme’s operations, s& far as wool and skin were concerned. Judgment was given for defendants. Judgment was also delivered for defendants in a ease in which Wilcox', M.oflin, Crompton and Sons, and others claimed L’200,000 sterling from the same defendants, with the exception of Sir John Higgins, the plaintiffs claiming the right to participate in the profits arising out of a charge of five-eighths of a penny per pound on the sheep skins handled hy the Central Wool Committee during the term of the Imperial wool purchase scheme.
