Henry Voungmaii, brother to above, aged about forty years, cuts about lace, and bruises. Ihitii William, .and Harry Yoiingiuan were picked up unconscious, and assistance was immediately lorthcoiiiing for the injured men. They were later .vent by ambulance to the (Tirislciiurcli Hospital. Thera is some doubt as to the exact cause of the accident, hut neighhours who were near the scene when (lie car overturned, stale that they heal'd a loud report, followed by a crash. From this it would appear that the bursting of the tyre was responsible for the mishap. On examination by the police yesterday alteriiooii, one of the spokes ol the collapsed wheel which had home the burst tyre was found to have been defective, and this might have had a hearing on tho accident. CAR BADLY DAMAGED.
Mr Henry Yoimgman staled yesterday afternoon tha! I lie car was travelling at between twenty and twentyfive miles an hour when it overturned. He began to lose control of the machine just before reaching the inter, section, and the next thing he kino, was that it had- overturned. The car was badly damaged; the body was hatlerc".!, two wheel:: were smashed, and liie radiator anil bonnet were dented. Air Henry Ynungman is employed by the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-opera-tive Association at Oxford. William and Harry, his counsius, were paying lum a visit from Inciibomiie, and the party had left for Christchurch early yesterday morning. The late Mr William Youm'ii'.an was manager ol a timber mill at !nohbannie, and his brother was manager of a farm in the same district.
The police took possession ol a spoke from the collapsed wheel.
