HANNAN AND 11A DEI ELD. TAURANGA, March 21. Hannan and iladfiehl are both in i raining. They should he very fit for their race on A pril 11th. A message from. Sydney states that Goodsell, the champion, says that he will give the first, title chance to Hannan, hut he insists on the race being rowed on the Uarrainntta River. Hunan, interviewed here. stated that if he were victorious against lladfiold, he would meet Goodsell for the world’s championship. 11 ndlield, when shown the cable, said that if he heat Hannan, he would immediately challenge Goodsell lor the title.

A statement i.s made that Baddon s challenge to Goodsell was the outcome of remarks allegedly made by Goodsell. after beating McDevitt. Referring to his previous challenge to Baddon, Goodsell is reported to have declared he thought that night have taken less time to decide whether he would accept the challenge or transfer the chnmpiionship title to someone else instead of keeping MeDevitt waiting two months, and the inference drawn by hearers was that Baddon had no desire to meet Goodsell.
