AFTER SEVEN YEARS

It was on the 21st. .March. BBS. that the* Great German offensive began on the battle-front in France. -Most folk will recall the Faster news of that year with Big Bertha dropping shells in Palis, and all the world being on a quiver whether the enemy would break through and split the Allies in two. They were anxious days and nights, all thoughts being turned to our boys at the front, and all hoping, and praying for the best to happen. 'llia best did happen. The Germans spent their tone, and soon the tide of battle turned.

Just as so many thought of the splendid services of those at the front who stood between the enemy and disaster. so we can all afford ns we recall the past, think now of the present, and those to whom a debt i> owing which can never he repaid adequately. But we may go on part-paying as some measure of acquittance, and on Saturday next in a small way we may all do a little to show that time has not effaced the past, that memory still recalls the sacrifices made. Pound Day on Saturday is nil effort to help the local R.S.A. with club-rooms where the men may foregather, and where pleasant and useful hours may he passed without having to resort to other places of entertainment.
