The Grand Lodge of Oddfellows’ which concluded its sessions to-day, had long sittings yesterday whereat proposals were carried that the Grand l/odge consider the issuing of a suitable members badge, that the D.D.G. .Hastens he ex-officio members of the Board of Control, that the Rchekah members he eligible to become associated honorary members of other Rebcknh lodges. After a long discussion «n the motion to adopt the Dominion Medical scheme under which a member would consult his own doctor and pay half the cost himself, the proposal was withdraw in order to allow further information to lie obtained. The Grand Trustees were instructed to report on the possibility of devising a scheme to assist with finance for the purchase of homes by members.
FATAL FALL UNDER TRAIN. TAIHA.UK. March 21
Clifton Henry Bruce Trask, aged 12 and single, employed at Gibb’s and rover’s mill, Hikitahi. died at Tailpipe Hospital last night, from injuries sustained at Hikitahi on Tlmisday evening. Trask was a passenger by the evening train from Tailpipe, and alighted at Hikitahi station. By some means, ho fell under the train, just as it was leaving the station. He was found between the rails when the train left, and was conveyed at once to the hospital. It was not thought that his injuries were so serious a; they sulisoqountly proved to be. ANOTHER BORSTAL INSTITUTE. WELLINGTON, March 21. Sir James l’arr states it has been decided to establish a Borstal Institute for the North Lsland at A\aikaro. on the site of the I’rison Camp, which it proposed to move near Tokannti. At Waikarc there is a fine building, and thousands of acres of land to bring into cultivation. The prisoners now at Waikarc will he removed and the •‘reformatives’’ will also In' transferred. The Borstal Institute at Waikare will accommodate from eighty to one hundred young people.
11.M.5. DUNEDIN. WESTPORT. March 21. 11.M.5. Dunedin arrived hero. from New Plymouth at 7 this morning, and anchored in the roadstead. An official party, headed b,v the Mayor, put off from Westport in the tug Mann at 10 a.i11., and boarded the ship. Later Commander Stnrplord and fourteen officers clinic ashore and were the guests of the Progress League and citizens in a run up the Buffer Gorge, where they entered Burley’s coal mine. The weather was beautifully fine, and all spent a pleasant day. The Dunedin leaves at 10 a.in. for Greymouth. From there she goes to Milford Sound. CRKY.MOUTH. March 23. 11.M.5. Dunedin arrived outside the roadstead from Westport on Sunday morning «:it (I o’clock. Af 1.30 p.ni., the Harbour Board tug. Westland, took the official party over io the warship. The conditions were ideal. I fie party left the vessel at lour o’clock, after which the Dunedin lifted anchor, and Liili vessels honoured the old custom of dipping file Hag.
The Dunedin carries a crew of 120, all told. She left for Hokitika at 5 p.ni.

At the annual meeting of the Canteen and Regimental Trust Board, the balance sheet showed the total funds invested at s’, to Of per cent, to lie £172,300, an increase of nearly ten thousand ] rineipally from interest. A thousand per annum for ten years was voted from interest to the Tientliain scholarship fund. The policy of the Board remains the same, to conserve a fund for relief purposes in a similar null)uer to the war relief funds, as the latter become exhausted.

The Chamber of Commerce passed a resolution; “That in view of the U.S.A. immigration restrictions on undesirable aliens and ootisoqtAml diversion of the stream of Southern Europeans and others to the Southern Hemisphere and the danger to New Zealand of the influx of low class labour. the Government he urged to immediately tighten up the regulations so as to confine admission to New Zealand to people of British birth.

The appeal is fiom the Chief Justice's judgment and the amount involved is £8!) 10s -Id, found to be due for various suplies ol eggs by the respondents to the npi ollanis on behalf of a man named Gallichan. The issues are almost entirely questions cl fact. Counsel for the appellants tn the Lower Con', t bad moved for a non-suit on the grounds that there was no evidence to comply with Section six of the “Sale of Goods Act, 190 S, ’ but the Judge bad held that there was no question of law in the transaction. 1 the facts all established the liability of the respondents, and he gave judgment for the full amount claimed and costs.
The case is proceeding. WOMAN DROWN ED IN BATH. D ANNE VIRTUE, March 23. _ Esther Eileen Murray, aged 2i, wife of John Francis Murray, a farm- , or at Tereliunga, was drowned in a hath at her house on Sunday. She was found fully clothed lying oil her hack in the bath, which was three parts full of water. How the deceased came to be in the bath is unknown. MOTOR LICENSE CANCELLED.
