INFANTILE PARALYSIS
AT HOKITIKA. The bacteriological test of the blood of the Sewell street suspect has been received, the report showing negative results. Another suspect, in Hall street, is at present under observation, hut the result of the Mod test is not yet to hand. Two fatal eases of infantile paralysis are reported, a married woman from Motneka. and a girl aged eleven from G lenhope. DFNEDIN CASE. DUNEDIN, .Mach 21. A hov of 2! years, notilied this morning died before admission to the hospital. Another case, that of a hoy of 12 years, described as a mild ease, was also reported to-night. TIM AR U REPORT. TIM AIM'. March 19. One fresh ease of infantile paralysis, a girl of eight, was reported to-day. The patient from Mt. Peel, a girl ot two years, is dead. IMGUUES OF THE MALADY. WELLINGTON. March 21. A sudden rise in the number of /cases of iin'l'aillile paralysis recorded was to he noted in the records of the Health Department up till 9 a.m. vestordav. Interesting figures as to the results of the malady upon the eomn,unitv are furnished by the department. Positive eases only (noUhed from November 25 to February are dealt with.
