BOY SCOUTS
(Contributed). The Committee and Scoutmasters plan to send one or two patrols from the troop, to Dunedin for the Scouts' Jamboree next summer. These will go, not merely as ‘•sightseers,” hut as performers in public displays, representatives in sporting events, etc. so that long and careful preparation "ill be required. This will he the biggest event of the kind ever attempted in New Zealand, and the chance should he eagerly seized where possible. If you would like your boy to go two things are necessary. (a) —As soon as meetings restart lie must prove himself really loyal and regular in his scout activities. (b) —At once he must start earning and saving money for his expenses. Nobody will come who telie.s entirely on his parents for this. Me have started a troop bank with this in view. Please note that the party will be selected fairly soon—untrained boys will not he included at the last minute. Those absent from the parents’ meeting this month should send a postcard to the scoutmaster fixing an evening for him to call and explain things in detail.
