A NEGLECTED SPOT
(To the Editor)
Sir—l notice that the Stale School grounds are wearing a very negletted appearance. This remark' applies specially to the portion fronting Hampden Street, and in particular the plots surrounding the war memorial. .1 do not know that I have ever seen the grounds so unkempt, and this after weeks of holiday term. It seems a pity that the low ornamental fence has been erected in front of the grounds, for it permits of a wider view of the untidy grounds, and in particular the neglected plots about the memorial. Anzae Day is approahing, and the special spot referred to should have attention at least, failing action by the school authorities, 1 think the Beautifying Society or Old Boys should take this matter up and see that the grounds present a more seemly appearance for the future. I am etc., 01.1) SCHOLAR.
