HOME LESSONS.

(To ihe Scholars Hokitika DDLS. ) The Journals for Alarcli arc now to hand and may he had on application at the school. A very large number of home work papers have been sent in during the last few days; I should say that well over 75 per cent, have sent in answers, but a lew have not yet sent in their work. I should like to impress on you the necessity of everyone doing the work. How about putting the Truant. Officer on to the lazy ones? The work has of course, not yet been all marked, hut from a hasty inspection of it, 1 should like to make a few suggestions. The work set for you is intended to he for the new class you are starting in. That is a pupil in Std 5 lasi year should do the work set for Std. 6. A number have not done this. All work above Std. 2 must he done ill ink, and all work must he in your best writing and neatly set out. Yniir parents must insist on this. You will get no credit for careless work. As Die answers to the arithmetic are appearing in Hie following Saturday’s Christchurch papers, you must complete and forward vour work before these papers aiiire here. The work set lor this week will involve a study of the February Journal. Many have not yet claimed theirs. Do so at once. The school will he open on Monday evenings between seven and eight, and usual hours every day. 'Under the heading ‘Spelling’ in this week’s work for Std. 6. file relerenee is to the first three lessons in the February Journal. If vou are in doubt on any other points, ring 102 S.
