LONDON, March 14

There were surprising revelations when Lord Ashmore gave judgment at Edinburgh for tile Bank of England in the action (cabled March ,13th), in which, tlie relatives ol' a man named Wilson made a large .sum, arising ont of alleged forgeries by his agent and secretary, named Anderson. Lord Ashmore held that there had been no forgery by Anderson, who had Wilson’s authority to sign transfers. The case revealed that Wilson had systematically made false income tax returns for years. He returned his income at Co,ooo instead of C20,0()f).

Anderson’s expensive mode of living and his heavy hotting, purchases of motor cars, supported the trustees suspicions that he was misappropriating Wilson’s money, and it was not proved that Anderson accounted for the hoods and stocks which he realised for Wilson, hut this was not the issue in the present case.

Lord Ashmore’s decision proves that Anderson was not guilty ol 'forging and titering, for which he is now undergoing a sentence ol seven years penal servitude.
