At the annual meeting of the Nelson Motor Cycle Club held at Richmond Park, Nelson, there was a big attendance. in the Novice Handicap, five laps, Chapman (Hokitika; was first, March ser (Christchurch) second, Hall 15 secs. (Nelson) third.
As a special treat to-night fresh groper and chips, also their popular whitebait fritters, are being nerved at the Rendezvous. A cosy lire, excellent servile, and delightful musical selections in addition to the wonderful variety of the menu make these rooms the most popular resort in town, a fact established hv the number of patrons continually seen there.—Advt.
A meeting of the Chrysanthemum Show Committee, was held on Friday, the 13th. at 7.15 p.m. It was decided to hold the annual show in May, the date to he arranged at a later meeting, and it is expected the 20th. will most likely he the most suitable date to hold the show, as the growers are experiencing a backward season. The committee hope to receive the same liberal support, in the way of special prizes, from those interested in the growing of the queen of winter flowers, anil with the addition of the various oilier classes, there is no reason why this year's show should not excel all previous efforts. A meeting will he held in about a fortnight’s time, for the purpose of completing the revision of the schedule.
