Mr Tom Baxter the well-known sawmiller, met with an accident at the K.K. sawmill at Kumara Junction on Wednesday. He was engaged in repairing a belt, when the knife he was using slipped, inflecting a deep wound on his left hand, and damaging a tendon. Baxter’s injuries were attended to at the Grey Hospital.

The death took place yesterday afternoon at her residence, Totara I lat, of Mrs Mary Ann Moore, a very old and respected Grey Valley resident. Deceased, who had reached the ripe old age of 84 years, was predeceased by her husband, the late Patrick .Moore, about two and a-half years ago. Mr J. O’lmen, M.P., yesterday received a telegram from the Hon J. G.
