LATE LOCALS.

On Monday evening the hoarders of the Red Lion Hotel gathered together to bid farewell to one of their fellow hoarders. Mr Albert Seebeek, on tne eve of his departure to take up a position as teacher in the Wairoa school. Mr E. C. Adams presided, and, be lore presenting the guest with a istlet watch and travelling rug eulogised Mr Seebeek’s many splendid qualities. Air Mclntosh also spoke at length, and on behalf of himself and the family, presented Mr Seebeek with a gold pendant The boarders each expressed their re-gret-nt losing so genial a comrade and wished him every success in his new sphere. Mr Seebeek in responding thanked the hoarders and Mr Mclntosh for their kind words and gifts, ami hoped that in the future he may be able to come hack and join them ah again.
