The Canterbury Chamber of Commerce lias issued a circular protesting against the action of the Dairy Control Board in legat'd to marketing overseas. The circular coinchides: “The Wiorld has had an extraordinary example of the disastrous failure of this class of socialistic legislation in Russia. It seems obvious that no responsible Labour Government would to-day repeat this, lmt the extreme Socialistic Party will welcome such Orders-in-Council from the Reform Government as substantial contributions to the future Communist regime.”

Y’esterday a party of detectives were at the Mount's home examining several heaps of ashes that were found at the rear of the house. They gathered up a. small bag full of charred bones which will be submitted fur expert examination. The result of the examination may he of supreme importance. When the officers went to the house on the day that they were notified of the woman’s disappearance they found in one of the rooms a pair of sheets bearing stains. The sheets appeared to have been imperfectly washed and were later forwarded to the Government. Analyst for examination. His report' is not yet to lianr..
