During the visit of Sir James Parr to South Westland, the residents in several of the centres brought a number iff requirements of the district under his attention. At AYaiho the Okarito Harbor League drew attention to the need of improving Okarito harbor. The motor lorry tax, and how it militates against the advancement of the district was also stressed. At Alatainui the Fanners’ Union and other residents ..urged that the police officer for the district be stationed at Alatainui. instead of Okarito. as a more central situation of the district, and that various of the smaller creeks in the district he bridged. At Harihari the question of n central school site was discussed, and several other district wants. The AI in ister in his several replies promised consideration to the matters put before him .by the various deputations, and after consulting his officers on several match's and referring others to Alinisters in whose department they lay, lie would let them know the decisions arrived at.
