[by telegraph—PEß tress association. RAILWAY TUNNEL FATALITY. DUNEDIN, March I. Angus McCollum, a single man, aged 35, residing at Port Chalmers, was found in the Mihiwaka Tunnel, about two chains from the north end at 8.20 a.m. to day by a railway surfaceman. It is presumed that he was killed by o train some time on Saturday. An inquest will he held on Monday. WESTPORT DISPUTES COMMITTEE WESTPORT, March 1.
A Disputes Committee, composed of Messrs Brown, Leith, Crowe and McCormack (for tile owners) and Messrs Whittle, Balderstone and Davidson (tor the millers) sat at Westport on Friday and Saturday, to deal witli the disputes from Millerton, Stockton, and Demiistun. Ihe sittings concluded on Saturday night, the committee reaching an agreement on all points.

However no call for labour was made. Both vessels remained in port until yesterday, when orders were received to take the meat hack to Patea. where it will he again placed in store.
GISBORNE DEVELOPMENT. GISBORNE, February 28. The work of unloading coal from the steamer Inga was delayed yesterday, the men working on the lighters demanding twopence an hour extra. This morning, however, the call for labour was responded to as usual, the position seeming to have risen from a misunderstanding. Labour was also secured for the Maroro, which was likewise affected.
STATE MINE FATALITY. GRKYMOUTH, March 2. A fatal accident occurred on Saturday in the cross-cut section of the Liverpool State Colliery, the victim being John Knox, of Reivanui, 53 years of age. His working male, C. 11. Hughes, aged 35, was severely injured. Tho two men were last week shifted from the No 3 section of the cross-cut section, and had been renewing timbering for the removal of of pillar. This work, having just been completed, the' whole place collapsed, the fall of debris being over one hundred tons. Knox was killed instantaneously. Inbeing buried. It took over three hours to extricate the body. Hughes was also caught and narrowly escaped death, .sustaining severe cuts on his forolu-ad and lace, as well as a sprained ankle. The men had regarded the place as safe, and the fall came unexpectedly. Tin- deceased came to the Coast several years ago from Green Island, wherein' leaves a family, hut his wife predeceased him.
