(“Sydney Sun” Cables). DR. EBERT DEAD. BERLlN,'February 28. President Ebert is dead. His death came as a great shock to the German people, in view of the previous night’s bulletin stating that his condition was improving. There was a sudden turn for the worse, due to aggravation of peritonitis which occurred at live o’clock in the morning, at the moment when the patient’s vitality was at its lowest ebb. He relapsed into coma, and never regained consciousness. llis wife, children, and the Secretary of State, Herr Meiseiier, were at the bedside. FRANCE AND GERMANY. PARIS, February 28. A trade agreement for nine months has been concluded by France and Germany. There are mutual concessions. The minimum tariff is conceded for all articles in which the two countries are specially interested, until a commercial treaty lias heen negotiated.
