As a set-off to the coming increase in the price of bread and Hour, oatmeal foods were reduced in price last week. The reduction iu the price of oatmeal, which amounts to C 3 a ton. lias been brought about by the lower values ruling for oats this season as compared with last season, when there was a shortage in the Dominion.

The committee of the A.P. and I. Association which met at Oreymoiith last night decided to hold the -annual show, which was postponed from February 18th and 19th last, owing to the Health Department’s embargo, on March 4th and olh next. Although the entries are not quite so numerous as those of last year, the quality is superior, and a sueeesslul exhibition is anticipated.
Under the new railway reclassification scheme the Dunedin traffic district will extend ns far north as Tinwnld. The Christchurch traffic district will comprise the remainder ol Cnnteibut \ , Nelson. Marlborough and the A\ est Coast with the exception of the Westport section. Traffic matters relating to the Westport section will lie dealt with by the stationmaster at that place. The Christchurch District liailwav engineer's jurisdiction will, however, include the Westport section in addition to all Canterbury north of Tinwald and the West Const® but will not include the Nelson and Marlborough lines.
