‘‘Tile Sea Hawk,” adapted from r.lie l.est seller by Ralael Sabatiui, author of “Searamoiiclie,” and regarded by (ritics and producers as the greatest sea story ever brought to the silver sheet. Dealing with a spectacular romance and the piracy of the late Sixteenth Century, Knglish, Spanish and .Moors, “The Sea Hawk” is reputed to possess an extraordinary amount of thrilling incidents, red-blooded action and tender romance amid many quaint and massive settings and in the hands of the producer of “Ashes of Vengeance,” “Los .Miserahles,” “lllaek Oxen” and “.Madame X,” the Sabutini narrative is said to have lost none of its highly entertaining drama, hut rather to have been greatly enhanced in its adaption to the screen. The transfer of Mr Snbatini’s epic to the screen lias made necessary the expenditure of £800.(100. the building of a licet of four mammoth sea. craft of the Sixteenth Century, C20.C00 in wardrobe and the use of over a thousand men in some of the brilliant naval combats; yet critic; slate “The Sea Hawk” is bigger than just the investment which has made it possible, indeed one of the truly great master-pictures of the films, with thrilling action and big situations to make each succeeding reel more fascinating than its predecessor. Milton Sills plays the dual character of .Sir Oliver Thessilinn and Sakd-el-Bahr, the hawk of the sea, and Enid Bennett is seen as
his fiancee, Rosamund Godolphin. Lloyd Hughes assumes a character part for the first time in his meteoricscreen career, playing Lionel, Oliver’s brother, and Wallace Bcerv essays the role of Jasper Leigh, renegade, who kidnaps Oliver from England and Liter returns with him ns his faithful limit. Frank Currier, Marc McDermott, Wallace McDonald, Mine. Medea Radzina, Kathleen Key, Lionel Bclmore, Claire du Urey, Fred cle Silva, Hector V. Sarno, Bobbie Boldear, Christine AlonLL. Albert Brisco. Kate Price and Louis Mirrison are others prominent in the big cast. ~ Aliss Williams’ orchestra will play the incidental score for this wonder picture, and the prices are; Circle 2s, stalls Is 6d. The All Blacks v. Wales match will also he shown both nights.
