WEDDING BELLS

CU'I'H HKRT—IIA RROP. A very pretty wedding was celebrated by the Rev. R. Hodgson at Holy Trinity Church, Gisborne, on Wednesday, January 21st, the contracting parties being May, daughter of the late Mr and Mrs A. X. Ha crop of Hokitika, and Geoffrey, only son of Mrs and the late Mr Andrew Cuthbort, of Gisborne.

The bride was supported bv Misses Hetty and Sue C'Jirisp as bridesmaids. Mr -Mervyn Maude acted as best mail, while Mr R. E. Gambrill fulfilled the duties of groomsman. The bride, who was given away by Mr It. J. Chrisp, wore a beautiful dress of ivory satin eliaruiantlie made on long graceful lines, draped at one side. Her train was lined with ivory georgette, caught at the shoulder with orange blossom. She wove an embroidered tulle veil held in place with orange blossom, and carried a shower bouquet of pink and white flowers.

The bridesmaids wore sleeveless frocks of palest pink georgette over pink satin the 'skirt arranged with panels of pleated georgette and finished at the waist with a girdle of roses in soft; pastel shades. Their pink tulle veils were held in place by a coronet of silver leaves. They carried posies of softlv shaded flowers.

The bride’s travelling frock was of champagne tricotine in tubular effect, the skirt being trimmed with flat flounces. Rhe wore a blue georgette bat trimmed with handsome feather mount.

The happy couple, who were the recipients of a great many presents, left later for their honeymoon. They join the Mooltau at Sydney en route to England.
