MEETING OF EXECUTIVE.

A meeting of the Executive of the "West Const Bowling Centre was held on the Hokitika green yesterday afternoon. There were present Messrs J. Bing, Chairman (Grymouth), T. Bowes (I’unnnga), F. Blaxall (Westport). A. E. Bennjinin (Hokitika), (!. A. Blnckwood (Rcefton), AV. Reynolds (lion, treasurer) and D. McKay (hon. secretary). The Chairman stated lie had taken, the opportunity of members of the Fxeeiitive being present at the tournament to call them together to discuss a number of matters.

In connection with the decision to hold a champion of singles champion contest for West Coast Clubs, decided at the last annual meeting, the first contest to take place at Westport in March, if was decided to fix the date lor this tonrnev for Saturday, March 7th.

It was resolved that each Club champion meet every other club champion in games of i>| beads, the winner of most games to be delated the champion of tile West Coast Howling Centre for the year, with the right to hold the trophy, being procured, for the year. In the event of a tie a. further 21 heads to he placed to decide the winner. Mr islaxall stated the Westport Club would he pleased to make the arrangements for the gathering. In connection with the present tournament the Secretary of the I on* minioiit Committee was authorised to make an allowance to the drey C'luh towards the cost of entertaining players at Greymoutli. Tt was resolved that the action of the Tournament Committee in arranging for the carriage of players to and from Grevmouth. who had come to Hokitika ior the 1924-25 tournament, and who were drawn to play at Greymoutli he approved. A discussion took place in regard to entries for further tournaments in view of the present congestion of entries, and the probability ol a further increase. and it was resolved that delegates request their Clubs to discuss and instruct them, in time for the next animal meeting of the Centre, to he held arly in July, on their views on the following questions :—• Of holding a links tournament only. It was pointed out that by this means 32 rinks could be accommodated on one green. Of a tournament to include rinks and pairs, each game to he of 21 heads, instead of a time limit for pairs as at present. To consider the matter of closing ol nominations from West Coast Clubs only for rinks and pairs on Doe. 21st., and then inviting further nominations (not to exceed a total ol 20 rinks and 1(1 pairs) from outside Clubs to till up to the limit numlrcr, it being suggested that Clubs who have sent teams to the annual tournaments on previous occasions should have the fust picferenccs. The Chairman referred to the success of the tournament then in progress, and after a general discussion on several minor matters the meeting teiniiuated with a vote of thanks to the chair.
