Aid, AIILITARY CAMPS OFF. WELLINGTON, February 10. Cabinet has decided that no military camps can be hold at present. CALVES GET PARALYSIS. AUCKLAND, February 10. It has come to the knowledge of the Department of Agrictnlture that a form of paralysis lias affected a number of calves near Auckland. The paralysis seized the bind legs of the animals and death followed in about twenty-iour hours. One farmer has already lost ton beasts. In the previous epidemic of infantile paralysis. in 15)16, no cases of paralysis were found among animals, but the medical authorities are alive to the possibility of the disease spreading in that direction. So far the examinations have indicated that the paralysis in animals is different from the infantile paralysis, in that the spinal cord is not affected, as in the latter form of the disease only monkeys appear to develop the disease. PR AYERS ADVOCATED. AUCKLAND, February 10. At a meeting of the Auckland Ministers’ Association, reference was made to the prevalence of infantile paralysis, and the Assocaition resolved to call the Church to prayer that the lereaved and suffering might bo comforted, and the widespread trouble abated.
