At the Supreme Court the jury returned it verdict of not guilty against Robert Widen, aged Go, the case arising out of the death ot John Hailey, who, as the result ol an altercation outside tin hotel on December 2itli. Roth men were the, worse ol liquor, and when struck or pushed by A\ iflcu, .Dailey fell and .sustained a fracture ot the skull. The jury returned a verdict of guilty of common assault, and the accused was sentenced to two. year's relormativo treatment. Ho was ordered to abstain from liquor.
