De Claris had £375 8s 3d in his possession also letters to Australian firms signed “Leslie, en route to Honolulu.” .Michael Joseph Davey, Senior Detective, stationed at .Melbourne, gave evidence and produced a warrant signed by Mr Cohen. Police Magistrate at Melbourne for the arrest of De Laris off charge of obtaining £3OO by ialse pretences. Accused was tbe person named in the warrant.
