Sir Alnui Pomare was reported this morning as having said that research into infantile paralysis was heiuo conducted both in Auckland and Wellington and in the circumstances there was no call for a special giant for the purpose as suggested by the X.Z.AI.A. The Hon. Pomare said today that he had never made such a statement and it was unfair to attribute such remarks to him. He was putting the Auckland resolution before Cabinet and lie was satisfied the proposals would get every consideration. Dr Gilmour of the Auckland hospital, would shortly devote the whole of his time to investigation in collaboration with Dr Lynch of Wellington.
