ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. DROP IN REEF—MUTTON FIRM. (By Telegraph —Special to Guardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs If. Matson and Co,, report as follows rcgaiding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday: Store Sheep:—A very large yarding, including consignments from the North Island. .Marlborough and Westland. Ihe entry comprised mostly lambs, and considering the large yarding the sale must he considered a good ■one. All forward lalllhs and voting caves sold widi. lull medium and travelled Marts were somewhat easier. Not many wethers were in, but any good forward sorts sold well. Good young ewes were especially keen. Best forward lambs made 30s (id to 35s (id, lair sorts 29s (id to JJOs, medium 25s to 295, smaller 22s to 2.5 s Gd, culls down to ISs 10s, 1-tooth crossbred ewes 36s to 425, s.ni. ewes 35s to 39s Jd, 4. li and S-tooth Romney ewes 35s (Jd to 39s lid. best rape ewes 21s Gd to 28s, others down to 19s Gd, best forward wethers 31s Gd to 395, others down to 31s Gd.

Store Cattle:—A fairly large entry, but, as ■ usual, mostly of nondescript lots. The only decent line in was a pen uf 3 or 4-year-old steers which sold at t'B 11s -Id. Other values were unchanged. Pigs:—A medium entry uf fat pigs

Store Pigs:—A very small entry and prices improved, especially for weaners. V'alues were: Small weaners 20s to 235, hotter sorts 2-ls to 275, small stores 2?s to 335, medium 36s to 435, large to 62. Beef:—A very large yarding, comprising 610 head and following on the recent heavy entries there were too many for butchers’ requirements; consequently the market was easier, showing an all-round drop of 30s to 36s per head. Prime steers made £l2 10s to £l4 10s, extra to £7 17s 6d, medium £8 10s to £l2, others down to £6 10s, prime heifers £9 15s to £l2 10s, extra to £ls 2s Cd, medium £7 ss, to £9 10s, others down to £1 10s, prime c-ows £8 to £9 15s, extra to £l3 10s, med-

The market opened keenly in advance ol last week’s rates, freezing buyers being practically unable to operate although the sale was irregular, ft was generally linn and till the finish. Fat Lambs:—A small yarding, but the quality generally was very mediocre. A fair entry of West Coast lambs which were, generally speaking, on the plain side. Graziers and speculators operated freely on light and unfinished sorts.
