lUBTRALIAN AND N.Z. CAULK ASSOCIATION SHEFFIELD SHIELD MATCH. MELBOURNE, February 3. The Sheffield Shield match, Victoria v. New South Wales, was concluded today iu fine weather on a good wicket. New South Wales made 173 for seven wickets. (Bards ley .79, Andrews 37. Owynne (not out) 4(3). In the howling. Gamble took four for 30. New South Wales won by three wickets. The scoring throughout was very slow, none of the batsmen taking any risks. Gamble bowled particularly well At one stage he had taken three for twenty. PLUNKET SHIELD. DUNEDIN, February 2. The Otago team to play Canterbury in the Plunket Shield match at Carisljrook on Friday, Saturday and Monday is as fofows: —Galland, Knight, Alloo, M’Mullan, Worker, Dickinson, Duncan, Blamires (captain), Shepherd, R. C. Torrance and Cherry. Douglas is twelfth man.
