BATHERS’ UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE.
AYKLI.TNGTON. Feb. 2. Bathers who went in for a dip at l.vell Bay yesterday morning were soon made aware that everything was not as it should he. Children came out of the water, and ran to their mothers on the beach, complaining toiat their legs were smarting. Older loik of both sexes, who went iurthci' out. experienced a burning and tinging sensation,, and. on returning to liedressing rooms, discovered that the.! bodies were coveded with an angi> rash, which was not only irritating -mt painful. On notes being compared, it, was found that everyone was afiected. and on investigations being 'none it was discovered that the trouble vats due to a visitation of a -heal of jellj fish of a mildly poisonous type. One bather said that th-.- rash war wuist in spots exposed to the Min when "miming. such as the side of the fa. ‘ the arms and legs. He stated •hat. on coining nut of the water -his ace. arms, and legs were smothered with .... angrv rash, which remained point'd from'Hl a. m.. until about 3 pm., ••■non the effects wore off.
