A DOUBLE TRAGEDY.
, DUNEDIN, February 2. A double drowning fatality occurred in Die harbour, off Anderson’s Bay Bridge this morning. . The victims were John Thomas Tillnirn and Louisa LilInirn, husband and wife, of Invercargill. The police were advised earlier in the morning that the couple had left their house and had not returned at 3.30 p.m. The police were notified that the bodies had been recovered about 200 yards from the retaining wall near the bridge. •An engine driver, employed by the jarbour Board, first saw the bodies. It was low tide, and lie saw tlic body of a man lying on the sand, and the body of a' woman was floating in a few feet of water. They were taken out and removed to the morgue. It "as reported that a bus driver found a silver mounted walking stick and hat .in the bridge in the morning. An in--most will lie held to-morrow. A GROUNDLESS RUMOUR. AUCKLAND. February 2.
