SPANISH PATRIOTIC DEMONSTRATIONS. [Reuters Telegrams.! •.Received this .lay at 925 a.in ) MADRID, February 2. Reuter’s Barcelona correspondent says that Sunday was given up to a patriotic demonstration on the occasion ol a visit by General Derivera, who dwelt on tiie benefits conferred oil Barcelona by the establishment of the Directory. Derivera, declared that a certain intensity of local Catalonian sentiment had been exploited by a few persons who were playing into the hands of covetous foreigners. Lie stated the Government would not tolerate even the theory of- separatism. General Derivera incidentally men-
tioned that financial overtures had been hap- made to the Riffs in order to secure the release of prisoners, but they would never be utilised to obtain military advantages.
Numerous local dignitaries participated in the demonstrations and delivered patriotic speeches.
RAISULI BESEECHES HIS LIFE. LONDON, February 2.
